Terra Incognita

Terra Icognita

VOYAGE INTO THE UNKNOWN

Twenty-three days ago you were the master of your own fate. Your entire life lie before you, a world of possibility, yours and yours alone to command…

Then you boarded the RCS Lady Penndragon.

Scheduled to travel the trading routes of the great sea, the Royal Caldonian Ship prepared to do what many Caldonian ships have done in the past. Yet this time, something was a bit unusual… a Professor Denhammer, chief metallurgist for the throne was aboard. Under royal decree the professor was given special command of the vessel, ranking even above Captain Einhorn himself… at least in matters of course and schedule.

A small entourage of personal assistants accompanied the professor, specialists in varying schools of study and vocations.

And yet the voyage you would partake on the 100’ sailing ship, was yet further unique. A contingency of 32 Caldonian marines were aboard. The nature of their mission, secret of course, though rumors had it the royal soldiers were being sent to reinforcing Caldonia’s interests in the grand market of Bengaloo, the biggest trade market in the realm.

Beyond Lady Penndragon’s crew compliment of 48 men, there was an additional dozen or so civilians. This alone was virtually unheard of, as trade route voyages did not afford the comforts of civilian expeditions… and single ships on the trade passage, were far more dangerous affairs than the caravan of ships that would depart in most civilian voyages… typically escorted caravans by at least one military ship.

It was an omen you paid no attention to as you had a job at hand to complete.

And so you sailed for 22 days, on what you could only describe as a strange and unusual voyage. One that would culminate in Lady Penndragon going off course and getting caught in the electrified ether of a Nova storm.

It was here, 24 hours ago that the ship was grounded on the rocky shore to an uncharted island. Miraculously the ship remained mostly intact with only a handful of hands lost in the horrendous storm…

Unfortunately, the ship engineer explains it that they don’t have the needed materials to make repairs and set off again.

And so, you and the remaining survivors of the RCS Lady Penndragon, find yourselves marooned, on a large island in the middle of nowhere. No one having a single idea of what this Terra Incognita has in store for you.
